Bow Ties Are Back in Style Now
The bow tie has secured a place in history beginning in the 17th century Prussian Wars. It has survived the ebb of trends for men’s fashions down to the present day and today the bow tie is back in style. But for those who take seriously fashion style, the bow tie has never been outdated.
Fashion statement
The bow tie is a classy accessory and when you begin to wear one, you are deciding to make a fashion statement. A bow tie says something – and it will reveal something about you’re:
- Personality
- Character
- Aesthetic sense
But there are a few tips for sporting the bow and these include:
- No clip-on
- Bold tie – mild shirt
- Doesn’t need to be perfect
No clip-on
If you want people to take you and your bow tie seriously, forget the clip-on or the pre-tied styles and get a self-tie bow tie. Pre-tied bows have their place but if you want to master this fashion accessory, you will need to tie it yourself.
Bold tie – mild shirt
This rule that the bolder the bow tie, the milder the shirt and vice versa. If you are going to wear funky bow ties, get just plain shirts. A loud bow tie will pep-up an outfit that is muted and a plainer bow tie will complement without confusing bolder shirts and suits.
Perfection
While you are learning to tie a bow tie, accept the fact that the “perfect knot” is usually slightly lopsided, unequal and perfect in honesty of its flaws. So, don’t try for perfections because few people wear perfect bow ties. Bow ties are supposed to be imperfect and a bit disheveled look is meant to be. So, a less than perfect bow tie is quite ok!
